Toronto Meets Its New Ride with the TTC’s Updated LRV Website Developed by Infinite Media

Toronto, ON – Today, Infinite Media, an integrated digital company, announced completion of major updates to the Toronto Transit Commission’s (TTC) LRV website. The TTC will be introducing new streetcars – light rail vehicles (LRVs) – on Toronto’s streets by 2013.

Infinite Media began the LRV project in 2010, in partnership with Ehl Harrison Consulting, Inc. The initial LRV website developed out of TTC’s initiative for a public consultation with Toronto’s transit riders about what they wanted in a new streetcar. Infinite Media developed the LRV website with functionality allowing transit riders to submit their feedback and ideas for the new streetcars, and even suggest a name for Toronto’s New Ride. Information about LRVs around the world, the LRV design process, and answers to frequently asked questions are also found online.

The LRV website was updated to unveil to the public actual images and artist renderings of Toronto’s future streetcars, and to provide new information about the LRV design process. Additionally, the launch of the updated LRV website coincides with a public unveiling of front-half mock-up of the new vehicles, which will be on display at the TTC Hillcrest Facility in Toronto, November 12 through 15, 2011. Infinite Media also designed a variety of supporting print materials introducing Toronto’s New Ride; including a postcard, banner, and poster boards.

“We’re excited to be a part of the TTC’s LRV public consultation initiative”, said Brad Sellors, Managing Director of Infinite Media. “The LRV website gives Toronto transit riders a chance to follow the TTC’s LRV design process, have their views heard, and be active participants in the TTC’s implementation of the streetcars of the future.”

Both online and at the public event, Toronto’s transit riders can explore in depth the features of the LRVs – including a modern design, increased capacity and seating, bicycle accommodation, and in particular, an accessible module on every new vehicle.

The LRV website developed by Infinite Media also complies with TTC’s Accessibility Standards and can be read by current accessibility software. To view the website and learn more about Toronto’s New Ride and the Public Display Event, please visit
